Tesco appoints new wine category manager

Alain Guilpain has been appointed the new wine category manager at Tesco.

His role becomes effective on 23 July and he replaces Claire Lorains who left the category following her move to Tesco’s healthcare department, which she is now director of.

Guilpain, who joined the supermarket in 1995, was previously trading director for Non-Food Grocery at Tesco in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

He has also worked for Tesco as category manager in Produce and Fresh and Packaged Foods.

Beer, Wine and Spirits category director, Dan Jago, said: “Alain’s broad commercial experience will bring valued skills to the wine team.  We look forward to welcoming him and working together to continue to bring excitement, quality and value for money to our customers in the wine aisle.”
