Multi-million revamp for Vinopolis
Vinopolis is suspending its wine tours from next week for three months as the London venue undergoes a multi-million pound refurbishment.
The Vinopolis wine tour
Due to relaunch in October, plans include the creation of a new “winery”, which will sit at the heart of the venue’s educational zone, while a new “geography zone” will help visitors understand what to expect from wine made in different climates.
Explaining the need for a revamp, Vinopolis managing director Lucy Haines said: “The Vinopolis Wine Tour has been running for over a decade and we’ve had millions of customers visit us and enjoy the experience over that time. However, it is time to modernise and cement our reputation as a destination for food and wine enthusiasts.”
Haines outlined the intended impact of the relaunched tour, promising: “The new experience will remain as an informal introduction to wine and spirit tasting but with interactive educational opportunities, modern technology and more links to food and wine matching principles.”
During the refurbishment period, the Southwark venue’s restaurants, masterclasses, wine tasting experiences and events programme will remain unaffected by the work.
So, “a destination for food and wine enthusiasts.” – but what about whisky and gin enthusiasts?
