Saturday Kitchen to film at the LIWF
Peter Richards MW will be selecting his wines for television show Saturday Kitchen at the London International Wine Fair, for the first time.
Filming of the popular food and drink programme, which has an audience of around two million, is set to take place at the fair on Wednesday.
Richards is remaining tight-lipped about his final selection, but has been tasked with finding matches for José Pizarro’s deep fried chicken wing “al ajillo” and Kenny Atkinson’s soused mackerel.
He has revealed: “I’m thinking a nice Semillon or Italian white for the latter and it’s all to play for with the former… maybe a cheeky Spanish number, possibly even a Sherry…”
This episode of BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen will be broadcast on Saturday, 26 May from 10am.
Kenny Atkinson is head chef at The Orangery, Rockliffe Hall, while José Pizarro is chef and owner of the tapas/sherry bar José and the restaurant Pizarro.
