New winemaker for M&S
Jeneve Williams has been appointed winemaker at UK retailer Marks & Spencer.
Williams joins M&S from Thierry’s, where she worked as winemaker and quality manager for three years, expanding the importer’s portfolio into new countries.
Prior to Thierry’s, Williams worked as a winemaker for Waverley TBS and Pernod Ricard Pacific, completing stints in Marlborough and Gisborne, and California with Mumm Napa.
She has also clocked up Old World winemaking experience in the Pfalz and the Languedoc.
Williams will start work with M&S on the 12 March as the winemaker for Bordeaux, the Loire, Italy, Chile, Hungary and Argentina, and will also look after rosé and sparkling wine in addition to technical responsibilities.
“I’m delighted that we are able to welcome such a talented and vastly experienced winemaker to our award winning team,” said M&S’ head of trading for drinks and grocery Andrew Bird.
“Jeneve’s understanding of the international wine market and her proven technical ability will be of great value to the M&S wine team,” Bird added.
