eRobertParker.com marks decade milestone

Leading American wine critic Robert Parker’s website, eRobertParker.com, celebrates 10 years in operation this month as the most used consumer guide to fine wine.

Over the past decade, the site has grown from listing Parker’s tasting notes to a robust fine wine resource authored by a team of respected writers spanning the globe.

With 500,000 monthly visitors, the subscriber-supported site includes a searchable database of almost 200,000 wine ratings and reviews, articles, videos, daily news, a bulletin board and vintage guides.

Parker’s team of writers includes Antonio Galloni, Neal Martin, Lisa Perotti-Brown MW, David Schildknecht, Jay Miller and Mark Squires.

In February, Parker handed over his California reviews to Antonio Galloni, who has written about Italian wine for the critic since 2006, in order to focus on Bordeaux and the Rhône.

“eRobertParker.com allows us to share our love of wine with an entirely new group of wine enthusiasts – and for that, I’m immensely proud of our team’s work,” Parker said.

“Our readers tell us they appreciate the quality, depth and precision of what we painstakingly provide. I thank them for supporting our passion for wine and allowing us to do what we love — sharing with others what makes a truly great wine,” he added.

This November, Parker cemented his status as the world’s most influential wine critic at “The Magical 20” tasting at WineFuture in Hong Kong, attended by 1,000 people.

There is already evidence of price movement for the 2009 vintage of Parker’s “Magical 20” – Bordeaux châteaux the critic believes are making wine of “first growth quality”, with both Angelus and Cos d’Estournel increasing in price following the tasting.
