Diageo and Pernod Ricard appoint new UK bosses
Rival drinks giants Diageo and Pernod Ricard have both appointed new UK bosses.
Andrew Cowan (left), currently commercial director of Diageo Ireland, will take over the role of country director for Diageo GB on 1 September this year, a move which sees Simon Litherland, current managing director of Diageo GB, leave the company.
“Simon is a very experienced and respected leader in Diageo, so it is with regret that, as a result of the European operating model changes, he will be leaving us,†said a Diageo spokeswoman.
Cowan’s job will be to lead the British business by driving the commercial agenda and encouraging a customer-centric focus country-wide, as well as engaging with the government, media, trade and consumer stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard’s UK managing director Jean-Manuel Spriet will move to head up the business’s Korean arm, while David de Mardt, currently leading the group’s South Africa business, will take over in the UK on 1 August.
