Cazes in the fast lane
Sylvie Cazes has been appointed managing director of all Louis Roederer’s Bordeaux properties in addition to her appointment as managing director of Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, where she replaces Gildas d’Ollone.
The new role will see her managing estates such as Château de Pez and Haut Beauséjour in St Estèphe, Château Bernadotte in Haut Médoc and Réaut la Gravière in AOC Bordeaux.
Cazes will continue in her advisory role at her family’s estates of Lynch Bages and Ormes de Pez, which are managed by her brother.
The new positions will add considerably to Cazes’ workload. Alongside her family commitments she is also president of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (until elections are held n June 2011), counsellor to the city of Bordeaux in charge of wine development and wine tourism, in charge of the Bordeaux Cultural and Touristic Wine Centre project and a member of the Board of Adage: the association for the promotion of the Bordeaux Opera.
