Courvoisier flying high with Virgin Atlantic
Courvoisier is to be offered to Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers both onboard and in the airline’s Clubhouse at Heathrow, as part of a new alliance between Courvoisier owners Maxxium Travel Retail and Virgin Atlantic.
Courvoisier is now the airline’s pouring Cognac onboard, with bottles of Courvoisier VSOP, Courvoisier XO and L’Essence de Courvoisier; a blend of over 100 rare eaux-de-vie, available for purchase through a pre-order service.
A 3D film about the heritage of the renowned Cognac – which was founded in the 19th century – will be shown on the airline’s in-flight entertainment system, while Courvoisier XO and Courvoisier Exclusif cocktails will be shaken and served in the Clubhouse bar, where all mixologists will receive training about the brand.
Clubhouse diners will also have the opportunity to indulge in a dessert created specifically to pair with Courvoisier, and take part in Le Nez de Courvoisier – a sensory experience designed to give consumers a greater understanding of Cognac.
“Virgin Atlantic is an entrepreneurial and inspirational airline and a perfect fit for Courvoisier,” said Maxxium Travel Retail managing director Glen Williams.
“Travel retail is a key market for Courvoisier and our aim is to become the number one Cognac by 2013”, Williams added.
