Brewdog pushes more boundaries
Another month, another off-the-wall ale from Brewdog, those extreme brewers from Scotland.
Not content with creating the 32% ABV Tactical Nuclear Penguin and the 41% Sink the Bismark, Brewdog have pushed the envelope even further with “The End of History” which, again, they’re hailing as the world’s strongest beer.
With “The End of History,’ which weighs in at an absurd 55% ABV, Brewdog has managed to not just rankle neo-prohibitionists but also animal rights groups too, seeing as each of the 12 limited edition bottles is presented in a stuffed stoat or grey squirrel.
The striking packaging was created by a taxidermist and, Brewdog assure us, all the animals used were road kill. Seven stoats and four grey squirrels were used – each coming with its own certificate of authenticity.
And what of the beer? It’s a blond Belgian ale infused with nettles from the Scottish Highlands and fresh juniper berries
