Roberson launches house range
Award-winning London merchant Roberson has launched its own range of house wines, Orbiel & Frères.
The “unbelievable value for money” range has been crafted by flying winemaker Hugh Ryman in conjunction with Minervois co-operatives.
The four-strong range consists of a Sauvignon Blanc, a Marsanne and Sauvignon Blanc blend, a Merlot and a red blend of Grenache and Syrah.
Roberson explained: “Ten of the best co-ops from the Minervois have got together and invited Hugh to take his pick of their fruit. Our buying team worked closely with Hugh in order to find blends and varietals that we felt our customers would love.
“Ryman is best known for being the inspiration behind the film A Good Year starring Russell Crowe, and while he might not be as handsome as Russell, we believe his Orbiel & Frères wines stand head and shoulders above anything else at this price,” Roberson added.
The two blends are £5.95 each (£4.95 in a case of 12) while the two single varietals retail for £6.95 each (£5.88 in a case of 12).
