Take a punt on an Eco-Mojito
The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel has teamed up with Bacardi in creating a new pop up eco-bar in Cambridge, England.
The open air Eco-Mojito bar has been installed on the hotel’s newly refurbished terrace by the river Cam.
Local business Create and Communicate was asked to design the space, which has been put together using salvaged materials.
The centrepiece of the new venue is the bar, made from old punting poles and the former flagship punt, King Henry VI.
The punt, which bears the name of the King’s College founder, was the oldest boat on the river until recently decommissioned as no longer fit for purpose.
Furthermore, several boxes full of mint plants, lit by solar powered lights, have been attached to the punt, creating a “living wall” and fresh garnishes for the cocktails.
The bar will serve a variety of Bacardi Mojitos, priced at £6.95, including one designed using summer fruit flavours.
The space can also be booked for private parties and mixology lessons starting at £20 a head, with a mixologist to lead the session and further food and cocktails provided.
The Eco-Mojito is open daily from 6-8pm for the hotel’s guests and other non-resident visitors until the end of September.
