Mexican wave hits Covent Garden
Benito’s Hat is gearing up to give Wahaca a run for its money as the Mexican kitchen opens a second London branch in Covent Garden on 5 July.
Along with the made-to-order burritos, tacos and salads found at its original Goodge Street outlet, founder Ben Fordham promised his latest venue will adapt to its location, featuring “more of a focus on drinks to tap into the busy nightlife”.
In addition to a selection of traditional Mexican beers, this offer is set to include a “classic and exciting” cocktail list based around the 100% blue agave Tequileno range of Tequilas.
Headed up by its margarita house signature, the list also takes in twists on other cocktail classics, from the Bloody Maria to Mexican Espresso Martini.
Each month Benito’s Hat will also introduce a guest Tequila, designed to help the Tequila-curious, as well as existing converts, discover the breadth of styles provided by Mexico’s national spirit.
Located at 19 New Row on the western edge of Covent Garden, the restaurant will seat 50 diners, including a function table for up to 22 people. For more information, visit www.benitos-hat.com
