Chez Bruce shuts for summer
Chez Bruce, the Michelin-starred south London restaurant, will close for six weeks this summer while extension work is carried out.
Chef-patron Bruce Poole plans to knock through into the former post office and café next door, putting into action a deal signed two years ago.
Chez Bruce will close its doors on 19 July and is set to reopen at the end of August once the work is complete. The extension is set to add 20 additional covers in the dining room, as well as allowing the installation of a disabled toilet and extra space to expand and refurbish the kitchen.
During this time, the restaurant team who do not take their annual leave will be shifted across to join staff at The Glasshouse in Kew or La Trompette in Chiswick, which make up the rest of the group owned by Poole and his business partner Nigel Platts-Martin.
Chez Bruce opened in 1995 on the Wandsworth Common site of Marco Pierre White’s legendary restaurant Harveys.
