Tuborg launches Urban Blitz

Tuborg is gearing up for the summer festival season by unleashing a £2 million “Urban Blitz” across the UK on-trade.

The beer brand will be hitting nine cities around the UK over a four week period from 26 April, encouraging music fans to join a series of big nights out.

A team of Tuborg Tuk-Tuks will ferry revellers to party hotspots around Leeds, Bristol, Reading, Newcastle, Northampton, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Sheffield and Cardiff. Each Tuk-Tuk driver will be armed with £1 vouchers to help drive Tuborg sales in participating bars and pubs in all participating cities apart from Edinburgh.

Tuborg stockists in each city will also be offering discount vouchers, as well as chances to win tickets to some of the UK’s biggest music festivals.

Urban Blitz will be supported by an outdoor advertising campaign, given a bespoke twist for each city.

David Scott, director of customer marketing for Carlsberg UK, which owns the Tuborg brand, revealed: “For one month only each town and city will become Tuborg-central as advertising sites will become a call to action for music fans to go out to pubs and bars and enjoy a great, fun night out with Tuborg.”

As part of its ongoing association with the live music scene, Tuborg is the official beer sponsor of festivals including Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Wireless, Download and Hard Rock Calling.
