Spar announces summer discounts
Spar will hold its first ever summer wine festival this year, promising to offer “something for everyone”.
Running in its 2,100 stores across the country, the festival will include discounts of 25% across several wine sectors, including Champagne.
The festival will take place from 22 April until 2 June and will place a special emphasis on South African wines to tie in with the FIFA World Cup in South Africa this summer.
From South African Chenin Blanc to Chablis and Bordeaux, the retailer says all manner of wines will be up for grabs at knock-down prices.
Spar UK’s wine controller, Laura Jewell MW, said: “We have committed real investment and resource into finding some of the best wines for our own brand range and it is great to be able to bring them to the market at genuinely great value.
“The Spar wine festival is designed to make it easy for people to try something new this summer without breaking the bank. We’re very proud of our range and really do believe we have something for everyone regardless of preference.”
The past six months have seen Spar completely overhaul its wine range in regards to design and suppliers for 35 of its 50 own-brand wines. This has also included new ranges of French, South African, Chilean, Australian and Californian wines.
