Cinnamon Club Diwali special with Whyte & Mackay
You may have missed last weekend’s TV show “Nibbles and Whisky”, the Bollywood TV show created by Cinnamon Club executive chef Vivek Singh and Richard Paterson, Whyte & Mackay’s master distiller, but there’s still time to test some of the matches for yourself.
Until 24 October, a selection of whiskies and nibbles will be available every night at the Cinnamon Club in Westminster, London. The TV show explored the pairing of Indian dishes with Scotch whisky.
Featured matches included beetroot mini fritters and onion salad with Whyte & Mackay 13 year old, while the brand’s 30 year old whisky has been teamed with kulfi, a frozen reduced buffalo milk dessert covered with crushed pistachio nuts.
Explaining the process behind the project, Singh explained: “Whisky is a favourite in India and it was fascinating to explore how well Whyte & Mackay complimented modern Indian food.
"The resulting pairings provide a delicious offering for Diwali, best enjoyed with friends and family.”
Guests at the Cinnamon Club can sample a platter of five nibbles for £15 a head, with the whiskies available at extra cost.
