db deputy picks up top writer’s award

The drinks business toasted one of our own on Monday night at the 2009 Louis Roederer International Wine Writers Awards, as Jane Parkinson, db’s deputy editor, picked up the Chairman’s Award for her coverage of Champagne and for "sky-rocketing" into the world of wine writing, accodring to Charles Metcalfe, chairman of the judges.

The announcement of Jane’s award was greeted with easily the biggest cheer of the night at the prestigious awards bash on the top floor of the Gherkin in London on Monday evening.
