Summer sales pull in fine wine punters
Following db‘s report of Farrs record-breaking response to its summer sale, Berry Bros & Rudd is now recording a surprisingly strong reaction to its August offers.
The famous British wine merchant hit its budget by the end of last week, less than two week’s since the offers were introduced in the month-long sale.
"There are around 150 lines in the sale and it runs until the end of August but already the response has been better than we thought – we did our budget by the end of last week," Berry Bros & Rudd sales director Simon Staples told the drinks business.
He wondered whether the rush on wines was due to Berry Bros & Rudd customers taking holidays earlier this year to escape the unsettled weather.
