Food glorious food
For those looking to celebrate the Glorious 12th in style, Loyton Lodge in Devon will be ensuring the grouse season opens with a different sort of bang.
The luxury ten bedroom retreat near Tiverton and Exmoor will host a traditional grouse dinner on Friday, 14 August.
For £85 per person, guests can enjoy a five-course dinner menu prepared by in-house chef Nick Pyle, accompanied by wines selected by Julian Chamberlain of fine wine merchants Goedhuis & Co.
The main course of roast grouse will undoubtedly be the highlight of the evening, served with Domaine Serafin’s Gevrey Chambertin 2003.
Run by Alick and Sally Barnes for the last 40 years, the 300 acre estate includes its own shoot and a farm, which provides much of the food on the menu. To book tickets for the dinner, contact Loyton Lodge on +44 (0)1398 331 051.
