MW exam syllabus review
The Institute of the Masters of Wine has announced a review of its exam syllabus as part of its routine cycle of checks on the validity and relevance of its criteria for membership.
The Institute’s Education and Examination Board (EEB) will carry out the review in tandem with a co-opted working group representative of educational expertise around the world.
The review, which takes the form of an online survey, concentrates on the content of the syllabus.
Dr Josef Schuller MW, chairman of the Institute, said: “Masters of Wine are rightly seen to have cross-disciplinary knowledge of the international wine industry at the highest level.
“It follows that w must establish on a regular basis that the MW examinations, our passport to membership, continues to reflect the current state and scope of the industry worldwide.”
EEB chair, Marcia Waters MW, added: “We are looking for feedback on the current syllabus from all our stakeholders, whether they are corporate supporters, students or members, but we are particularly keen to hear from employers and the industry as a whole.”
