Viña Maquis offers new visitor experiences for spring
Chilean winery Viña Maquis in Colchagua Valley will celebrate the beginning of harvest this spring by offering multiple visitor experiences.
Viña Maquis, located in the heart of Chile and surrounded by two rivers, recently restored and remodelled its tourist house to accommodate new spring and summer activities for visitors, from harvest participation to guided tours.
For those interested in exploring the region’s wines, the winery offers a Historical Vintages Tour. During the experience, visitors can choose from three iconic wines from Viña Maquis or Calcu to learn about their histories. Described as ‘a journey through the senses,’ the tasting includes four vintages carefully selected by the winemaking team. The private guided experience is designed for small groups, with a maximum of eight people. Participants will enjoy the wines in high-precision glasses, accompanied by a selection of fine cheeses.
The new La Place de Bordeaux Experience offers a delightful opportunity to savour wines selected annually by an exclusive network of wine distributors from Bordeaux, France. This tasting event features a pairing of the last four vintages available on La Place, accompanied by authentic French cuisine, including foie mousse and local sourdough bread. Guests will also enjoy an individual tasting board that showcases typical French dishes such as duck confit with ratatouille and boeuf bourguignon.

The Entre Ríos Experience offers a unique adventure to reach the winery via one of the two surrounding rivers. This kayaking journey along the Chimbarongo Creek allows participants to fully connect with the area’s natural beauty while enjoying a serene descent on the water. The experience begins at the Viña Maquis tourist house, where travellers will be privately transported to their chosen kayaking route. Two options are available: a longer two-hour ride or a shorter 30-minute experience. Both options culminate in a picnic on the shores of Viña Maquis, featuring local products that can be paired with any of the wines selected to accompany a chosen meal.
Local artists and entrepreneurs showcase and sell their products every Saturday at the Maquis tourism house. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to pre-schedule a new activity called Maquis Harvest. This recently inaugurated program allows guests to experience the entire wine-making process, from vine to bottle. With the guidance of an expert local team, people will harvest grapes, tread them, and complete the entire wine production cycle. This engaging activity includes a morning filled with group games and technical information, ensuring that all questions are answered while visitors enjoy a unique experience. Maquis Harvest is available exclusively on weekends in March and April.
