ABK6 launches white wine range

Single estate Cognac producer ABK6 has launched a new range of white wines following the acquisition of Bordeaux vineyards in 2023.

Owned by Francis Abecassis, ABK6 has become known for its single estate Cognacs since its launch in 2005. Following the acquisition of 126 hectares of vineyards in the Bordeaux region in December 2023, the company has expanded its repertoire by launching a new range of white wines.

The company commented: “This strategic decision allows our company to diversify its offerings while staying true to its values: providing very high quality at a reasonable price. By leveraging our expertise in viticulture and winemaking, we aim to bring the same level of excellence to our Bordeaux wine collection that characterises our exceptional Cognacs.”

The ABK6 white wine range debuts with two 2024 vintages, created by the house’s winemaker, Adeline Magère, in collaboration with the Rolland & Associés oenology laboratory. This diversification is said to broaden the brand’s range of productions and reflect its commitment to exploring and honouring France’s rich winemaking heritage.

The first, Bordeaux 2024, is made with 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Sémillon, 7% Colombard, 3% Sauvignon Gris, and 2% Muscadelle. Described as offering aromas of intense citrus and exotic fruits on the nose, the wine is also said to display elegant pastry notes on the palate.

The second expression, ABK6 Blend 80/20 2024, is made with 80% vinified Merlot as white wine, with the last 20% including 10% Semillon, 6% Colombard, 2% Muscadelle, and 2% Sauvignon Gris. The company’s tasting note describes a nose of exotic notes with freshness and acidity on the palate, and an aromatic finish.

ABK6’s white wines will be available in two formats – cork stopper and screw cap – throughout the brand’s distribution network from 31 March 2025.
