The world of no- and low-alcohol wines continues to innovate, offering intriguing flavours without compromising on quality. Here’s our countdown of the top 10 bottles to try this Dry January and beyond.

Grape varieties: 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Carmenere, 13% Syrah

ABV: 8.5%

Residual sugar: 7.2g/l

Price: £10

Tasting notes: Deep ruby in colour with a bright, cherry-hued rim, the wine displays vibrant blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, with creamy, toasty oak and a hint of sweet red pepper. The palate seems nearly dry and is well-balanced. Mid-weight, the wine has good definition, lively acidity and linen-textured tannins, and a herbal lift on the finish. Tasting notes: Medium in sweetness, the light-bodied wine has lively acidity, good concentration, creamy mousse texture and a nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Tasting notes: Pale lemon in hue, the aromatics are grapey, with a musk oil hint. The sweet (over 100g/l residual sugar) palate is beautifully balanced by lively acidity, giving full scope to the tropical fruit salad flavours. Tasting notes: Pale lemon-green in colour, the wine shows green fruits, nettle and passionfruit, with a herbal accent. Off-dry (12.2 g/l residual sugar), the light-bodied palate has refreshing acidity and a touch of astringency giving added grip, and good intensity of flavours and length. Tasting notes: Pale baby-pink in colour with tiny bubbles and a mid-width cordon, the wine shows crunchy red apples and crushed raspberries, and a gentle hint of fresh bread. The palate is sweet (75g/l residual sugar) and quite light-bodied, with brisk acidity and a hint of tannic grip giving lovely balance – and creamy mousse texture leading to good length of finish.
