Tom Parker Bowles and Henry Jeffreys launch podcast

Food writer Tom Parker Bowles and award-winning author Henry Jeffreys have launched a new podcast, Intoxicating History, blending fascinating storytelling with the rich heritage of alcoholic drinks.

Produced by TWS Creative and TellTale Industries, in partnership with Acast and sponsored by Taylor’s Port, the series explores the often dramatic and always intoxicating stories behind the world’s favourite beverages.

The first episode, released on Thursday 5 December 2024, dives into the rise and fall of empires, Prohibition, royal favourites and revolutionary cocktails. From Charles Dickens’s punch recipes to the contents of the royal drinks trolley, listeners are treated to a heady mix of wit, expertise and history as Tom (right) and Henry (left) reveal how alcohol has shaped civilisations, sparked wars and sealed peace treaties.
