Alcoholic drinks prices on the Sexy Fish Dubai menu range from 55 UAE Dirham (£12) for the Watermelon made with El Jimador Blanco Tequila, to 95 (£20) for the Tanqueray Gin-based Mandarin. There is also a fairly sizeable alcohol-free cocktail offering, the most inexpensive of which are price at around 40 UAE Dirham (£8.50).
The restaurant also offers a premium Zeitaku omakase menu for 879 UAE Dirham (£187), featuring dishes including a caviar dip, slice o-toro tuna, and barbecued A5 wagyu.
Richard Caring, Caprice Holdings chairman, commented that there were opportunities to be had in the UAE: “The Middle East, and Dubai specifically, has made its mark on the map as a global pioneer of innovation, welcoming an array of diverse and discerning diners. We are thrilled to bring Caprice Holdings, our rich heritage, and expert know-how to a region that is bubbling with potential and opportunity.”
Outlandish, expensive and beloved by social media influencers, Sexy Fish launched in London’s Berkeley Square in 2015, in Miami, Florida in 2022, and then in Manchester last year.
While a cocktail bar in an Islamic country might seem incongruous, the UAE is, like several other Gulf states, developing into a potential market for alcoholic drinks brands, thanks in a large part to the arrival of Western investment and tourists. The region is starting to look particularly attractive for wine.
