Don Londres Tequila launches in the UK

Tequila brand Don Londres, founded by Post Malone’s music manager, marked its UK debut with an exclusive launch at Selfridges.

The UK launch of Don Londres Tequila took place yesterday (2 December) with a release at Selfridges, marking the brand’s first international expansion outside of North America, where the company has been growing since its release there last year.

The Tequila is now available at Selfridges’ London, Manchester, and Birmingham stores.

Founded by music entrepreneur Dre London, known for managing singer Post Malone, and co-owned by British rapper Blade Brown, the brand’s ethos combines a modern aesthetic with Mexican heritage at its core.

Speaking to db about the Selfridges launch, Blade said: “Like most young people, I grew up aspiring to shop there. It’s an iconic London destination. When we talked about launching the Tequila, Selfridges was at the top of our list. It’s a massive success for us.”

This move is part of Dre London’s vision to craft a premium spirit that mirrors his own entrepreneurial journey. “For me, creating Don Londres was like producing an album,” he said in a statement. “It’s about blending the right elements, and respecting the craft.”

Distilled in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, the brand has teamed up with master distiller Francisco González, whose family has been producing Tequila since 1905. González remarked, “with Don Londres, we honour a legacy by crafting a spirit that reflects our commitment to quality and authenticity.”

Tequila gains momentum

The launch follows a growing trend of celebrity-backed Tequila brands, with stars such as Dwayne Johnson (Teremana) and Michael Jordan (Cincoro) making moves in the category.

In the UK, premium Tequila is also seeing rapid growth, with Waitrose recently reporting an 86% rise in sales of the spirit compared to last year as consumers increasingly embrace Tequila for sipping as well as mixing.

The launch features two expressions: The Blanco, priced at £55.99, described as “a silky blend of herbal and citrus notes with hints of anise and green mint,” and the Reposado, priced at £75.99, which delivers “harmonious soft citrus tones combined with vanilla flavours derived from bourbon barrels.”

Selfridges will host consumer tastings throughout December, giving customers an opportunity to sample the Tequila’s craftsmanship. Following this initial exclusive period, Don Londres Tequila will become available online and at multiple UK retailers.
