Baldoria Vermouth signs APAC deal with Metagroup
Italian vermouth brand Baldoria has signed a strategic partnership with Metagroup, an importer and distributor, export consultancy and creative agency headquartered in Hong Kong.
Baldoria Vermouth, a brand of Italian vermouth launched by three friends, has teamed up with Metagroup for the next stage of its global expansion.
The brand offers 10 different expressions — Dry, Rosso, Bianco, Rosé, Dry Rosso, Mate, Dry Umami, Verdant, Wild Plum, and Orange Wine. The herbs and botanicals used in the production of Baldoria are grown on four hectares (10 acres) of farmland adjacent to the Baldoria distillery, and are produced without the use of herbicides or pesticides.
Daniel Schmidt, CEO and co-founder of Baldoria Vermouth, said the team at Metagroup would help not only the brand, “but the wider vermouth and low-ABV categories to unchartered new heights in the years ahead”.
He continued: “We are humbled by the continued growth and overall success of the brand and believe the timing is ideal to align with such a preeminent global player who can help both guide us and grow with us in 2025 and beyond when it comes to our strategic global expansion.”
Metagroup will act as Baldoria’s Asia Pacific partner through its importer and distributor arm Metabev. Metagroup chairman Roger Chan explained that the partnership “aligns with our continued goal of providing top-tier beverage offerings to customers across the region”.
He said: “We are thrilled to have Baldoria join the Metabev portfolio at this time.”
Metabev recently won a tender run by Marriott China to create a new spirits programme, alongside international behemoths Diageo and Pernod Ricard. The programme will run from October 2024 until September 2026 and will be featured across all existing and future Marriott properties across Mainland China.
Chan said the Metabev team was “excited about the scope and opportunities Baldoria Vermouth brings to the Metagroup supply contract recently signed with Marriot China”.
Metabev will showcase Baldoria Vermouth, together with its wider portfolio, in March 2025 at Bar Convent Singapore, one of the leading international bar and beverage trade shows in the region.
