Registration now open for Premiere Napa Valley
Registration is now open for the 29th annual Premiere Napa Valley auction, one of the most prestigious wine sales in the US.
The next Premiere Napa Valley auction, due to take place on 19-22 February 2025, will feature fine wines from the “much anticipated” 2023 vintage, Napa Valley Vintners has revealed.
More than 200 rare wines from renowned winemakers are expected to go under the hammer, including limited-edition expressions, making it a unique opportunity for collectors and wine brokers to snare something unique.
Lot sizes range from 60 to 240 bottles, meaning the auction will offer Napa Valley’s rarest commercially available wines. Licensed members of the wine trade can take part in the auction in person or participate in a live-streaming auction conducted by Sotheby’s on Saturday 22 February.
“Premiere Napa Valley is hands down the best week of events to create and cultivate partnerships in the wine industry,” said Katie Leonardini, co-owner of producer Whitehall Lane, which owns seven vineyards in and around St. Helena. Leonardini is co-chairing this year’s auction.
“Trade professionals have access to hundreds of winemakers and winery owners, all in one place. At the same time, this is an opportunity to see winemakers display the latest innovative and creative trends in winemaking,” she added.
The 2023 Vintage Debut
The auction will also be an unofficial unveiling of Napa’s 2023 vintage, which is expected to be one of the finest in recent years thanks to a long, cool growing season. Premiere Napa Valley will provide the first chance for members of the trade to taste, and secure small-lot wines from 2023 that will never be produced again, according to Napa Valley Vintners.
“The opportunity to taste so many Napa wines in just a few days is unique and hugely valuable – as is the chance to meet the people behind them,” said Alex Hunt, purchasing director at Berkmann Wine Cellars in London.
Interested professionals can register now at premierenapavalley.com. Online bidding begins on 7 February 2025.
