VIK launches new vintage in 100ml tubes

Chilean winery VIK has launched its 2021 vintage on fine wine platform La Place de Bordeaux packaged in 100ml tubes.

VIK presented its 2021 wine to journalists, critics, and clients in exclusive packaging that reflects the Chilean producer’s journey since its founding in 2009.

Called ‘A Journey to Perfection’, the packaging includes three 100ml tubes housing the VIK 2021 single-varietal components of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, plus a third tube containing the final blend, VIK 2021.

The elegant packaging also includes a book that outlines the history of VIK, and the vision of Alex and Carrie Vik to find the perfect terroir, and create a unique global experience.

“We are thrilled to present VIK 2021 in La Place de Bordeaux with this exclusive set of tubes to the press, which embodies the essence of our journey and our commitment to excellence,” said Andrea García Calvo, marketing director.

“This launch marks a significant milestone in VIK’s history, and we look forward to sharing this unique experience with wine enthusiasts around the world.”

VIK 2021 comprises 77% Cabernet Franc and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, and was aged for 26 months in Barroir barrels (VIK’s in-house barrel-toasting programme) for 90% of the blend, while the remaining 10% is aged in clay amphorae. VIK has described the 2021 vintage as offering an “elegant expression on the palate, and a firm structure with fine and with polished tannins.”

Drinkers and collectors can expect “a sense of minerality and fine graphite”, and aromas of “fine red and black fruits at perfect ripeness, with spicy notes that combine black and white pepper.”
