The Dalmore releases Cask Curation Series – for an eye-watering £35,000 a set
Luxury single malt Scotch whisky brand The Dalmore has released its Cask Curation Series Port Edition, a limited-edition trio of whiskies finished in rare port casks from Symington, which will retail for £35,000.
The collection is the second instalment of The Dalmore Cask Curation Series, which focuses on celebrating The Dalmore’s “artistry and the role played by casks sourced from the world’s finest winemakers”, it says.

Although the distillery has released port-finished whiskies before, this new series is the result of its exclusive partnership with Symington Family Estates, a long-time partner, who gave The Dalmore exclusive access to some of its rarest Graham’s Port casks to finish the aged whisky, with The Dalmore’s whisky makers hand-selecting the rare port pipes at Graham’s Vila Nova de Gaia. The unique influence offered by Graham’s rare Port imparts rich fruits and dark chocolate notes, the brand said, and together, the trio showcase the flavour potential in Graham’s Port wine casks, having been “nurtured for decades under the watchful eye of [its] winemakers”.
The collection comprises three whiskies: The Dalmore Cask Curation Port Edition 43 Year Old, which has been finished in exceptionally rare Graham’s 1952 Single Harvest Tawny Port casks; The Dalmore Cask Curation Port Edition 30 Year Old, which has been finished in very rare Graham’s 1994 Single Harvest Tawny Port casks; and The Dalmore Cask Curation Port Edition 27 Year Old, finished in very rare Graham’s 1997 Single Harvest Tawny Port casks.
Only 150 sets of the Cask Curation series The Port Edition will be available, presented in a specially commissioned hand-made green leather-finish travel case, which retails for £35,000.
The first series in The Dalmore Cask Curation Series the Sherry Edition – a collaboration with its long-standing partner, González Byass, was released in December 2023, with the final two releases expected in 2025 and 2026.
The Dalmore, which is owned by Whyte and Mackay, has recently doubled the production capacity at the Highland distillery overlooking the Cromarty Firth, with the construction of a £40m twin still house on the site of its redundant Saladin box maltings, that has been designed to retain the Dalmores’s idiosyncratic distillation process and character.
