Online craft beer store The Beer Rep launches
A new UK online beer store, named The Beer Rep has launched to allow people to hand-pick their favourite craft beers without the need for a subscription.
The business, which is offering a carefully curated range of beers from a variety of small and established breweries, is set to make craft beer “more accessible to everyone” by offering “exclusive discounts, loyalty rewards and fast nationwide delivery”.
Speaking to the drinks business, The Beer Rep CEO and founder Martin Avis said: “We’re currently working with Dark Revolution, Small Beer, Neon Raptor, Tartarus, Lacuna, Electric Bear to name a few, and as the site grows so will the list of independent breweries so we can continue to bring great craft beer to our customers.”
Avis pointed out that The Beer Rep allows customers to pick the premium craft beers they want, when they want, without getting locked into a monthly subscription. He explained: “This way customers are guaranteed to have the option to get the latest limited edition releases and pick the right products for their taste-buds – or maybe even try something new.”
Describing why the need for the platform exists, Avery told db: “A lot has happened in the last three to four years which has had a massive effect on the independent sector. For example, hikes in the cost of ingredients, eye-watering taxes for higher ABV beers and of course the lasting impact of the covid lockdowns which has changed consumer behaviour.”
He insisted that: “adapting to these changes and financial pressures is crucial” and said: “If we focus on creativity and work together, I’m sure this will help the independent breweries – and craft beer in general – to thrive”.
Avery added: “We have made finding the perfect craft beer as easy as possible with our Beer Style Decoder. This helps customers to understand what to expect from the flavours of different beer styles.”
He also revealed: “Our brand is centred around Ned, the family dog who is a pesky Westie, and is very curious to try my beers. The website features Ned’s Picks which showcase our featured beers” and concluded that helping the sector was really the core message and stated: “The Beer Rep will do all it can to help the independent sector and continue to push smaller independent breweries on our site.”
Customers who subscribe to the newsletter will receive a 10% discount off their first order.
