Heritage Wine Company acquires Winchester Wines Group
The Heritage Wine Company, recently launched by Miles Corish MW and Jim Ludwig, has announced the acquisition of Winchester Wines Group, including its Milton Sandford Wines and The Secret Cellar brands.
Corish founded Milestone Wines in 2017, two years after becoming a Master of Wine, to supply wine to on-trade in the Northwest of England, and the nationwide off-trade. As part of this latest acquisition, Milestone Wines will be incorporated into The Heritage Wine Company group, which was founded to facilitate these deals.
“The establishment of The Heritage Wine Company, along with the acquisition of Winchester Wines, represents a major step forward in our vision to set new standards of excellence in the wine industry,” commented Corish. “Geographically, it will be advantageous to have a southern foothold, and the expanded group’s combined expertise allows us to leverage our offering and enhance the value we provide to our customers and partners.”
Corish’s business partner and Heritage Wine Company co-founder Ludwig, a seasoned executive, said: “Our strategy is focused on building a nationwide network of off-trade distribution along with strategically located retail outlets. Combining Milestone with the acquisition of Winchester marks our first step in this ambitious plan. Acquisitions will play a crucial role in our growth, and we
are eager to engage with small business owners who are seeking the right home for their family enterprises.”
The merger will see the the new group have activities in the on-trade, off-trade, high street retail and also the bonded warehouse services sector. However, it has been noted that each company will continue its individual operations, with the existing staff.
