Fair game: HKTDC returns to Hong Kong this November
Back with a roster of new events, tastings and masterclasses, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair (HKTDC) is gearing up for another successful show this November.
hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of buyers from all around the world will head to Hong Kong for this year’s International Wine & Spirits Fair, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The fair is taking place from 7 to 9 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
Exhibitors will showcase everything from organic and natural wines to Chinese wines, world whiskies, Champagne, vodka, cocktails, non-alcoholic or low-alcoholic beverages, beer, soju, and sake. The three-day event will feature dedicated zones designed to promote the industry’s comprehensive development, including Wine Education, Wine Investment and Wine Accessories, Equipment and Services.
Hong Kong’s Trade Development Council has developed the fair to primarily cater to trade buyers. Not only will visitors have the chance to do business, they will also have access to a variety of different events, tastings and masterclasses, including the debut of ‘Sommeliers’ Picks’ featuring a number of top wines available at the fair selected by renowned sommeliers.
Masterclasses by world-class Masters of Wine will also be on the agenda, along with wine tasting sessions and daily seminars that cover the cutting-edge topics of the wine industry. A number of industry awards ceremonies will also take place during the event, welcoming wine professionals worldwide.
The final day, open to the public, will feature a series of talks, seminars and tasting sessions aimed at consumers.
What’s new this year
A new Wine Fiesta zone will be introduced at this year’s Hong Kong’s Trade Development Council event, gathering exhibitors looking to engage with local wine lovers and pursue retail sales opportunities. The zone will also be open for the public to explore on the final day of the exhibition.
As a compliment to the wine selection, the Friends of Wine Zone will also showcase snacks and nibbles.
Past successes
The HKTDC is building on years of experience to make the 2024 show a success. In 2023, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair drew keen buyers from emerging markets. Several regions stood out, including Korea, Mainland China, and Taiwan, as well as Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia, showing healthy potential for development in the years to come.
Last year the fair attracted around 7,000 buyers from 49 countries and regions. On the Public Day, the fair drew around 9,000 ticket-holding wine enthusiasts who enjoyed the beverages and attended the wine-related events.
This year, the fair is expecting to host exhibitors from across Asia including China, as well as from Europe and the United States.
