It’s such a match made in heaven that it’s astonishing to think no one has done it before, but as per the popular and astute rebuff against critics of certain styles of art – you could have done it yourself, but you didn’t.

The McBride Sisters Wine Company has tapped into the one thing many consumers hate about red wine – the toll it can take on one’s teeth.

As such, the female-led wine company has teamed up with toothpaste brand Colgate to launch a gift set containing red wine and a method to reverse the staining after drinking it.

“We launched a limited-edition gift set in partnership with Colgate Optic White to show how beauty and sustainability can work together,” Hilary Butler, McBride Sisters Wine Company, told db.

The sustainability part comes in as each bottle of McBride Sisters Collection Red Wine Blend included in the gift set comes in “a paper wrap overlay on top of the original bottle, with a super sleek varnish.”

Also included within the set are two Colgate Optic White Overnight Whitening Pens and a compact mirror because “you should be able to treat yourself to a glass of red without worries of dimming your dazzling smile,” reads a statement on the brand’s website.

Priced at US$49.99, each gift set encourages consumers to “unwind, sip and shine”.

The wine itself is made with grapes sourced from the cool-climate vineyards of California’s Central Coast, where wine grapes have one of the longest growing seasons in the state. “That translates to rich complexity and great texture,” according to the brand, and notes of “bold plum and cherry with hints of toasty mocha”.

The McBride Sisters Wine Company “invites you to enjoy this smooth red blend with waves of flavour, and rest easy knowing that the Colgate Optic White Overnight Whitening Pen promises an even brighter smile ahead.”

Sisters Robin and Andréa McBride launched The McBride Sisters Wine Company in 2016. The portfolio includes Black Girl Magic Wines and the SHE CAN canned wine ranges, along with a series of McBride Sisters Collection Reserve wines that incorporates single varietal Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a Sparkling Brut Rosé .

Last year, the company acquired M Ranch Estate in the Carneros district of Napa Valley and celebrated their first harvest from this vineyard the same year.
