The top 3 biggest issues facing the drinks trade

Encirc Beverages identified the most pressing issues facing the drinks trade at a partner event designed to support collaboration between different players within the supply chain.

On Wednesday 18 September Encirc Beverages hosted its Partnership Day, bringing together leaders and partners from across Encirc’s supply chain and customer base.

The event, spearheaded by managing director Richard Lloyd, brought together more than 100 companies including industry giants such as Smurfit Westrock, the WSTA, Diageo, Sainsburys and Tesco to share their thoughts and ideas on how best to address the issues facing the sector currently, and prepare it for the future.

Collaboration was at the core of the event and central to Lloyd’s messaging, which included Encirc Beverages’ Vivid Vision strategy, which sets out the company’s plans for the next five years of the business and encourages all parts of the supply chain to work together across the industry to identify and tackle common goals.

The necessity for this collaboration was further highlighted by the event’s workshop, with all attendees able to share their thoughts on the most pressing issues facing the sector. During the workshop, three clear topics were identified: doing more with less, influencing consumer trends, addressing cost concerns.

By creating a united industry, the sector can showcase its capabilities to address these challenges and speed up its progress in doing so, allowing it to set the
standard for the government and wider manufacturing to follow.

Commenting on the event, Richard Lloyd said: “The Partnership Day is the first step in uniting an entire sector. The people and knowledge that came together on the day is something special, with our suppliers, retailers, customers, and strategic partners working with each other brainstorm solutions that work for everyone.

“The feedback we’ve had on the event has been mind-blowing including our Vivid Vision strategy, the amazing Expo that highlighted the work already being in the sector, and the workshop session which has given us unparalleled insight into the full spectrum of the beverages industry.

“The more closely we can work together as a sector, and the earlier we all find common goals and start sharing our progress, the more change we can create. Everyone in the supply chain is key to achieving that and it’s exactly why we hosted our first ever Partnership Day, to recognise the hard work of our supply partners and the vital role they play.”
