Rock band The Gaslight Anthem release Stay Lucky beer
New Jersey’s Asbury Park Brewery has teamed up with the US rock band The Gaslight Anthem to release a hazy IPA called Stay Lucky.
The 6.5% ABV beer which, according to the brewer, has “aromas of peach and mango” will be packaged in four-packs of 16oz cans and available from the brewery’s tasting room until it is sold out.
Speaking to the drinks business, The Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon said: “We’ve been fans of Asbury Park Brewery for a long time and discussed collaborating on a beer for a while. Since they’re a local brewery, we wanted to create something fun for our fans and theirs to enjoy.”
The name of the beer comes from The Gaslight Anthem’s song from the album “American Slang” released in 2010 and the union between the brewery and the band began when Fallon recently expressed his love for the brewery’s Sea Dragon IPA and coincides with The Gaslight Anthem’s performance at The Stone Pony Summer Stage.
Fallon told db: “We decided to do one now because they opened their new location in May, which makes it easy for everyone to go pick up the cans at the brewery.”
The collaboration will also give back to the music community with a portion of the proceeds from sales going to Red House Music & Rehearsal Studio, a music school located in New Jersey.
The release marks the Asbury Park Brewery’s fourth limited-edition collaboration on a beer with a musician.
