This week in pictures includes Sarah Neish with Ramon Bilbao, Michael Huband in Paris for Champagne Mumm, Louis Thomas with Ferrari Trento, Jessica Mason in Yorkshire and Patrick Schmitt MW at The Global Chenin Blanc Masters. 

Ramon Bilbao

Sarah Neish attended Ramon Bilbao’s Creating Complexity in Rueda and Rias Baixas at the Spanish Wine Academy this week.

Ferrari Trento

Louis Thomas attended a dinner at Gordon’s Ramsay’s River Restaurant at The Savoy with Ferrari Trento cellar master Cyril Brun, who moved to work in Northern Italian sparkling after 25 years in the Champagne sector, and Ferrari Trento owner Gruppo Lunelli’s Matteo Lunelli and Camilla Lunelli.

Champagne Mumm

Maison Mumm hosted a dinner in Paris last week dedicated to its RSRV range. Cellar master Yann Munier introduced the Champagnes and Chef Sato Hideaki, the inaugural Champagne RSRV Gastronomic Global Ambassador, designed the accompanying six course meal.
Meanwhile, wine expert Cyrille Tota emceed the tasting experience, as guests were asked to compare various textures to the wines in the glass.

The Languedoc Quiz

This week saw the Languedoc Quiz at Manchester and Bristol. The series of events are dedicated to showcasing the exceptional character of AOPs wines from the Languedoc.

The Languedoc Quiz is a new concept developed by the Languedoc Wines council to foster a strong and emotional connection to the region. Featuring a selection of more than 15 exquisite wines and some of their producers, it combines a playful and educative approach centred on Languedoc wines and its region, creating a memorable and distinctive experience.

Each quiz will explore themes highlighted in the newly launched press pack ‘The Spirit of the Languedoc’.

Global Chenin Blanc Masters

This week saw Patrick Schmitt MW and other expert judges judge the second edition of The Global Chenin Blanc Masters at COMO The Halkin in Belgravia.
