Campervan Brewery opens newly-renovated taproom

Leith-based Campervan Brewery has re-opened its family-friendly taproom after an extensive renovation and expansion.

The brewery, known for its flagship IPA Leith Juice, as well as being behind Scotland’s first gluten-free nitro porter Extra Black, was established in 2017, but at the beginning of 2024, underwent an expansion that involved new equipment and increased its capacity by 50%.

Formerly, Campervan Brewery had a small taproom based inside brewhouse, but after a new unit opened up next door, this has expanded and following a renovation, been turned into a taproom offering Campervan favourites as well as exclusive brews.

Speaking to the drinks business, Campervan Brewery managing director Paul Gibson said: “Due to our exciting brewery expansion, we were forced to close our taproom last year to create more space which made us all really sad. Opening the first brewery taproom in Edinburgh seven years ago, we fast became an inclusive and safe space within our local community. We’re lucky to have some amazing loyal, local supporters and it’s our community who have helped make us who we are today.”

Gibson told db: “It’s a huge relief and pleasure to be able to open our doors again and welcome our supporters back to the taproom to enjoy their favourite Campervan beers”

Describing the new taproom, Gibson added: “We’ve loved having a tiny taproom within our brewery thus far, but our new taproom is huge, with a projector to show sports and movies, so we are all very excited for this new chapter. We’ll be having events, food trucks and live music.”
