Hennessy celebrates 300 years with Richard Hennessy Magnum

LVMH Cognac brand Hennessy is releasing the Richard Hennessy Magnum in honour of the 300th birthday of its founder.

The magnum is one of the brand’s most exclusive blends to date, housed in a decanter exclusively designed by Daniel Libeskind.

It aims to be a “passageway between Hennessy’s past, present, and future”, the brand said, and has been made from Hennessy’s scarcest and most precious eaux-de-vie, showcasing 300 years of Cognac making.

Made and bottled at Hennessy’s Atelier des Éditions Rares in Cognac, each bottle is housed in a Baccarat crystal decanter by the designer and previous Hennessy collaborator, Daniel Libeskind, with the aim of pushing “the boundaries of contemporary design and architectural creativity”, it said.

The crystal decanter is suspended, as if levitated, in a graphic metal frame and includes an engraved portrait of Richard Hennessy reflected through the decanter designed by French calligrapher, Nicolas Ouchenir.

Tasting notes include flowery notes, soft spices, nutmeg, notes of leather and hints of fennel.

The magnum decanter is accompanied by two Richard Hennessy glasses in cut crystal, a pipette and holder to enhance the tasting ritual and overall experience.

It is available through private sales and at Houses of Hennessy worldwide.
