This week saw the drinks business team attend ProWine Singapore, including our special Celebration of Sustainability event.

AB InBev

Michel Doukeris CEO AB InBev talks about his pride in the Olympic tie-up with the Corona Cero brand and took a little time out of his board meeting in Leuven, Belgium at the Stella Artois brewery to sip a beer and chat to journalists over lunch.

UBA

Shoreditch has seen the arrival of UBA, a playful and decadent new dining spot landing on Great Eastern Street.

Opened this month, it offers the gastronomic journey through the bustling streets and aromatic alleys of Asia’s most vibrant cities with a menu that offers accessible sharing plates, served-up against a backdrop of decadent interiors and a vibrant soundtrack.

Wines of Tejo

Wines of Tejo held a tasting on Tuesday at 67 Pall Mall. It was the region’s first UK trade tasting in 5 years.

Royal Cocktail Exchange

The Royal Cocktail Exchange from the founders of Cocktail Trading Company and Murder Inc has opened in Fitzrovia, London, and includes three beautiful drinking spaces: the welcoming cocktail exchange on the ground floor, a development bar and table downstairs, and the soon-to-launch workshop on the top floor offering dedicated masterclasses.

Expertly created by a team famed for its innovative serves, the cocktails tread the subtle line of paying respects to classics, while pushing them in exciting new directions, meaning the drinks at The Royal Cocktail Exchange are both pared back, and pushed to their limit, it said.

Mondo

Rupert Thompson, MD of Hogs Back Brewery, has invested in Mondo, securing the future of the its brands, brewery and tap room. Mondo founder and MD Todd Matteson stays on as MD of new company Mondo Beer Ltd, with Rupert Thompson as chairman.

Following a prepack administration, the deal will see brewing continue at Mondo’s Battersea site. As well as delivering a fresh injection of capital to drive continued growth of the Mondo brands including Dennis Hopp’r, Road Soda and Little Victories, the financing will allow investment to be made in the Mondo tap room, and in additional sales and marketing activities, Hog’s Back said.
