Aviation American Gin, co-owned by actor Ryan Reynolds, has announced the release of six specialty bottles inspired by the Deadpool & Wolverine film ahead of its release on 26 July.

The bottles have been designed by Maximum Effort and Sandstrom Partners as a collectors’ item for fans of the gin brand and the Marvel franchises. Each bottle variant showcases one of six distinctive Deadpool icons, the brand has said.

Reynolds, who stars as the titular character in the Deadpool superhero films, originally bought a stake in Aviation gin in February 2018, prior to its purchase by Diageo.

“I discovered Aviation American Gin while shooting the first Deadpool movie,” said Reynolds, the brand’s co-owner. “Back then Aviation wasn’t big enough to tie-in to a big summer movie and Deadpool was lucky to get any sponsors at all.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is the third film in the franchise, which premiered in 2016.

Aviation’s new limited-edition bottles inspired by Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine are a 750mL bottle. Starting early this summer, the limited-edition product will be available while supplies last at retailers nationwide, online, as well as the Aviation American Gin Portland Distillery, and in select countries —the US, UK, Canada and Australia — at the same price as the traditional Aviation American Gin offering.

Holly Frank, Walt Disney Studios’ VP, Partnership Management and Operations, Marvel, said of the collaboration: “We’re so excited to be collaborating with Aviation American Gin to give fans a chance to engage with the world of Deadpool in a whole new way leading up to the eagerly anticipated theatrical release of Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Aviation gin has previously launched limited edition bottles to celebrate another string to Reynolds’ bow. In February 2021 Reynolds and fellow Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney celebrated their takeover of non-league football club Wrexham with a limited-edition Aviation American Gin x Wrexham Association Football Club bottle.
