Cindy Crawford may have featured on the cover of Vogue countless times, but the supermodel’s latest campaign is as the face of the new Casamigas Tequila.

The campaign debuts the latest product in the Casamigos Tequila range, founded by Hollywood actor George Clooney along with businessman and investor Mike Meldman and Rande Gerber, a businessman and the husband of Cindy Crawford.

Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila has been six years in the making, according to Gerber, who said of the new launch: “Cindy has obviously been part of the Casamigos journey since day one, and I’m excited that she now gets to put her special touches on Casamigas.”

Drinks giant Diageo purchased Casamigos in 2017 for US$1 billion. As part of the deal, Diageo was due to pay US$700 million up front for Casamigos and a further potential $300 million based on its performance over the following 10 years. The sale made Clooney the highest paid actor in 2018.

Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila is made from 100% blue weber agave grown in Jalisco, Mexico. Casamigas uses Casamigos Blanco Tequila, which is naturally flavoured with jalapeños to create a spicy Tequila serve.

The new product was inspired by Crawford’s favourite drink. She said of the product: “As much as I love Casamigos, my go to drink for a fun night is a skinny, spicy Casamigos margarita. Casamigas Jalapeño makes it that much easier.”

Crawford’s trademark lips and beauty mark are sketched on the label, along with a red A crossing out the O in Casamigos.

Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila is now available nationwide in the US in 750mL and 1L bottles with average MSRPs of $49.99 and 1L $60.99.
