Alcohol-free sparkling wine Wild Idol wins Gleneagles listing

Wild Idol has secured a listing with luxury hotel Gleneagles, as consumer demand increases for premium alcohol-free options.

Premium, alcohol-free sparkling drinks brand Wild Idol has secured a listing at five star hotel, Gleneagles in Perthshire, Scotland.

Guests at the luxury hotel, which boasts a two Michelin starred restaurant, can now enjoy Wild Idol’s naturally alcohol-free sparkling rosé and white in the heart of the Scottish countryside.

The new partnership highlights a move by the hospitality industry to embrace alcohol-free options in response to increasing consumer demand, with Gleneagles’ food and beverage manager Rashid Ghuloom describing Wild Idol as “delightfully complex”.

Wild Idol’s addition to the hotel’s range reflects Gleneagles’ commitment to “providing diverse and premium choices for our guests, many of whom are now choosing to moderate their alcohol intake,” adds Ghuloom.

Vegan, Halal-certified and gluten-free, Wild Idol is produced from a blend of grapes by winemaking experts, and has never contained alcohol.

Wild Idol CEO, Paul Beavis (former Managing Director of Champagne Lanson) commented: “We are delighted to be able to offer guests at Gleneagles a premium alcohol-free option for them to enjoy during their stay. Our collaboration with Gleneagles highlights the importance of keeping up with consumer demand for premium alcohol-free drinks and Wild Idol is proud to be the serve of choice.”

In just under two years, Wild Idol has successfully launched on-trade and direct-to-consumer operations in the UK, Europe, and Middle East, with expansion to the US planned for later this year.

The brand has won listings with luxury retailers including Harrods, Selfridges, and Daylesford, as well as on-trade accounts with Nobu, Rosewood, The Dorchester Hotel, The Connaught, Atlantis The Royal, Nammos Dubai, Mandarin Oriental, Hakkasan, One & Only and Conrad Hilton Hotels.

Wild Idol is also available to buy online via Ocado.

There are currently two products in the range. Wild Idol Sparkling Rosé is a delicate, fruit-forward drink with aromas of grapefruit and baked stone fruits which develop into flavours of gooseberry, rhubarb and vanilla. Wild Idol Sparkling White has a pale straw hue with delicate bubbles and a smooth mousse, and aromas of fresh green apple and lime zest evolving into flavours of Bramley apple and green, garden notes.
