How Bordeaux is reinventing itself

Is Bordeaux a one trick pony? Think again. The famous region produces myriad wine styles, and we want to see all of them. Enter the Bordeaux Masters competition by 1 April for the chance to win a medal.

Life hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses for Bordeaux in the last decade. Despite its world-class reputation, Bordeaux has suffered from being perceived as expensive and old fashioned, and new generations of wine enthusiasts started turning away from the iconic region.

Eager to reconquer consumers, the Conseil Interprofessionel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB) recently launched its new campaign inviting people to rediscover the historic region and to put behind any preconceived ideas they might have. The emphasis is put on the community aspect as well as the diversity of wine styles offered by the region – two things that are also at the core of the Global Wine Masters’ philosophy!

The Bordeaux Masters returns for its second edition, and will aim at identifying not only the best wines made in Bordeaux, but also international wines sold through La Place de Bordeaux. During last year’s competition, the top medals went to some fantastic everyday Bordeaux wines, Grands Crus, as well as fine wines from Chile, the USA and Italy.

Entries are open for another week and results will be published in the Bordeaux report of the drinks business in July and online.

Join the Cru! Enter the competition here before 1 April.
Entries cost: £159 ex VAT
