Monster Brewing Co becomes the new name for Canarchy
Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective has changed its name to Monster Brewing Co to assist in the rise of the brand’s alcoholic drinks arm.
According to reports, the name change has been implemented to help the business to better align with Monster Beverage Corp’s brand as it continues to release alcoholic malt beverages following its launch of The Beast Unleashed, made using “malt alcohol” – a beverage weighing in at 6% ABV and the introduction of the hard iced tea variant Nasty Beast.
Speaking about the decision, Monster revealed that the business expects its new alcohol products will “continue to play an increasingly vital role in the future activities of Longmont, Colorado-based Canarchy” since its acquisition of Canarchy in 2022.
Monster Beverage Corp vice chairman and co-CEO Hilton Schlosberg said: “We entered the alcohol beverage sector with the acquisition of Canarchy in February 2022, providing us with a fully staffed organisational infrastructure, full distribution in place and manufacturing capabilities. During the past two years, we integrated Canarchy’s infrastructure to develop, introduce and market new products that are becoming leading brands in the flavoured malt beverage space.”
Monster’s chairman and co-CEO Rodney Sacks explained: “We are pleased that the strategy of combining the strengths of both organisations is proving successful as we continue to develop and roll out innovative new products in the flavoured malt beverages space and beyond. We are particularly proud that the Beast Unleashed was the best-selling new beer brand in 2023.”
Monster will continue to operate independently under the management of its president, Tony Short, and his team.
Short added: “Our new corporate identity operating as Monster Brewing Co affords an even greater opportunity to grow, not only with the introduction of innovative new products but also with our well-established core brands, which are cherished by a loyal consumer base.”
