The Traitors’ strict alcohol limit is revealed
The former cast of the BBC reality series The Traitors have revealed the strict alcohol rules that contestants must follow while on the show.
In an a report on the programme by the Metro, former contestants revealed what life on the show was really like, and explained that there was a pretty strict alcohol limit – but divulged that the cast “found a way around it”.
The Traitors had “clear” rules about alcohol, which, stated that contestants were allowed one one alcoholic drink. For instance, one of the former cast revealed you were allowed “a glass of wine or a pint of beer at the end of the day, after the roundtable, after any missions because you can’t do missions drunk, and that’s the only thing you’re allowed”.
However, he told reporters that negotiations took place for any further drinks in the contestants’ rooms and explained: ‘If you negotiate your way around this, you’re allowed one extra glass once you’re back to your lodgings, you can have a cheeky extra glass but that is it so there’s a pretty strict alcohol limit. And you can’t steal anybody else’s alcohol because we all want it.”
The cast member admitted: “I told the producers after the show, I was like, guys, this would be so much funnier if everyone gets s**t-faced” but added that it never happened as the producers “were afraid of people giving something away”.
