How to celebrate Cabernet Franc Day
It’s simple to celebrate: just pop a bottle open and pack your bottles to enter our inaugural Global Cabernet Franc Masters competition! Sign up before 22 December for the chance to win a medal.
Allow me to share a warming remedy to this cold early December: Cabernet Franc Day, happening today (4 December).
Created by Lori Budd (Exploring the Wine Glass), this wine holiday aims at celebrating a grape variety long considered supporting cast in blends but deserving to be in the spotlight as much as co-star varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon.
Did you know that without Cabernet Franc, the world of wine would not be the same? It is a parent to many grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carménère.
Fully committed to honour the global dimension of our tastings, we are thrilled to introduce the first edition of the Global Cabernet Franc Masters in 2024.
Our masters competition focuses on identifying the best expressions of this versatile and elegant variety across the world, in every style and price range. It is open to any varietal of Cabernet Franc, or blends containing at least 50% of the grape.
Every wine will be measured on the taste of its grape and the skill of its winemaker, and results will be published in the drinks business magazine and online.
Ready to celebrate Cabernet Franc and enter the competition? Sign up here before 22 December 2023.
Entries cost £159 ex VAT
