ASC Fine Wines announced this week that it has the exclusive distribution rights for Chinese producer Kanaan Winery in China’s hotels, restaurants and cafés.

Makoto Nagae, CEO of ASC Fine Wines, noted the increasing demand among Chinese consumers for high-quality domestic wines. He said: “Kanaan Winery’s innovative winemaking style has gained recognition internationally. Their wines exude elegance and depth, aligning seamlessly with ASC Fine Wines’ commitment to excellence.”

Kanaan Winery was founded in 2011 by German-Chinese vintner Wang Fang. It is located in the Helan Mountain’s eastern foothills in Ningxia, China.

Fang, nicknamed ‘Crazy Fang’, moved back to China after studying at the Giessen University in Germany, bringing with her some German winemakers to help produce the wines.

Kanaan Winery focuses on cultivating grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Riesling, employing cold maceration techniques. The red wines undergo additional maturation in French oak barrels.

The winery produces a range of wines including a dry Kanaan Riesling, a Semi-Sweet White Wine produced with Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, Kanaan Wild Pony produced via a mixed fermentation of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Gernischt, and Black Beauty, made with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Pinot Meunier.

Mario Aron, COO of ASC Fine Wines, praised Fang’s “hands-on approach and unique spirit”, saying they had “propelled Kanaan Winery towards new heights in the Chinese premium wine sector.”

He said: “ASC Fine Wines is privileged to collaborate with ‘Crazy Fang’, and together, we are dedicated to presenting Kanaan Winery’s outstanding quality and beauty to wine enthusiasts in the country.”
