Hedonism Wines launches online fine wine and spirit auction platform
London boutique wine retailer Hedonism Wines is launching an online auction platform specialising in fine and rare wines and spirits.
The inaugural auction will take place on 13 November, comprising 100 lots that do not have reserve prices, including a Lafite Rothschild ’89 en Magnum, Dom Perignon ’90 and Meursault Goutte d’Or Comtes Lafon ’19 as well as a rare bourbon, Pappy Van Winkle 20-year-old Family Reserve.
The auction will not be charging commission on purchases, which it claims is a “transparent approach that ensures that bidders only pay for the lots they win, with no hidden fees”.
Hedonism Wines’ CEO Tatiana Fokina said the retailers was “ecstatic to embark on this new chapter with our devoted clientele”.
“This platform is not only a testament to our commitment to innovation within the industry but also our dedication to providing unparalleled value. By waiving commission fees and delivering on speed, we’re promising a seamless, customer-centric experience like no other,” she said.
Successful bidders in the UK will also receive their bottles within 2 days, which the retailer claims is one of the fastest delivery turnarounds in the industry.
“The November auction promises a selection that encapsulates the very essence of luxury and rarity – from legendary vintages to limited-edition spirits,” it said, with each lot specially curated by Hedonism’s team of experts.
Founded in 2012, Hedonism has established itself as a firm fixture on London’s wine scene, with one of the most diverse collection of wines and spirits under one roof, ranging from sub £30 wines to those costing as much as £100,000. As well as its retail space in Mayfair – a haven for oenophiles – it has ventured into the on-trade with the opening of Hide.
