Ex-footballer banned from golf course for Peroni stunt
Former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard has been banned from an exclusive £92,000 membership golf course following a stunt involving Peroni.
Bullard announced the news of the ban on ex-snooker player Stephen Hendry’s Youtube show Cue Tips, when the two former sportsmen were discussing playing at the Sunningdale Golf Club.
The clip of the incident which occurred six weeks ago is still posted on his Instagram account, with Bullard telling his half-a-million followers that the “Peroni Picker is here” and cryptically adding the handle of Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfield James Maddison.
The video shows a golf ball positioned on top of the Peroni bottle with Bullard then swinging his driver, before beer spills out onto the ground of the teeing area, after he has taken his shot.
Bullard then picks up the bottle and takes a swig of the beer.

But despite some celebrities on Instagram liking the post, including another former footballer Jamie Redknapp, who commented with laughing emojis, the golf club didn’t find the post amusing.
He told Hendry that he “wasn’t allowed to go again”, following the Peroni incident, where he used a bottle as a tee to drive off on the first hole.
Bullard said: “I had a few drinks and I got carried away. I put a Peroni off the first tee and clipped a ball off it. It’s obviously not the thing to do, so I apologise.”
Stating that the course was one of his favourites, he continued that if any members of the club were watching the YouTube show, “I do apologise. I really want to come back.”
Well-known for his ability, Bullard who plays with a low handicap, even took part in European Pro tour events when his footballing career, which included stints at Fulham, was over.
In addition, he has featured on ITV show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and been a popular pundit and guest on football and sports culture shows.
